It's "spit" when you spit it out. If it just dribbles out of your mouth like you're "drooling", then it's drool. Since you more than likely don't spit it out when you're sleeping, it's just assumed that you are drooling, so it is called drool.

It's called drool when if comes out of your mouth but you may not be able to control it (like when you're sleeping). Spiting is when you deliberately expel saliva from your mouth. No matter what you call it, it's saliva.

It's drool when you sleep cause you unconsiously drible it out and you wouldn't be able to control it cause you are asleep(isn't it called slobber also). When you are awake, you spit it out and you control it.

When you are dreaming your in a deep sleep, because you open your mouth and you don't know it. Well when you spit it just comes up your mouth.

i guess its because you dont drool when you're awake

cuz drooling is when saliva comes out of your mouth involuntarily
