the fact that your mum is a good piano player you should really get her to teach you. the best way is to be like any normal teacher and constantly beg her until she gives in. or you could ask her really nicely and explain to her why you didnt want to in the past. if you tell your dad or a grand parent they will probably nag your mum aswell lol. i dont think you should forget it unless your not that serious about playing it. btw too much homework isnt an excuse i didnt have enough time to go out running when i was training for a kickboxing fight so i got up 2 hours earlier in the morning so i could do it. its hard and it takes commitment but hardwork pays off. hope this helps =)

Nope it is definitely not too late.
You will have more patience now and a better understanding of what you are doing. The other benefit to your age is that you want to learn how to play. Meaning, you are not a young child whose parents want you to learn how to play. That means that you are going to put more effort and time into learning since this is something that you want.
It is never to late to learn something, anything.
Go for it, congratulations, and have a great time!

nope - practice - practice - practice

and here's a $10,000 lesson = play your song 5 times slow
(the section you are working on) for every time you play it
'a tempo' or at regular pace/tempo

and when you make a misteak-mistaak-error
start the 5x slow again

you have to train your fingers where to go

ONE DAY - it all falls together - and you go WOW - I am playing the piano!

from my teacher who taught 20 years at Julliard

enjoy! and have a great 2008

It's never to late to learn something. If you want to learn it and you have a desire too, then you can. Don't let a little something like age stop you.

it's not too late, you can learn how to do it now. i even think it would be easier learning at your age then when younger, i took lesson as a kid and don't even remember anything.
basically all you need to do is learn the notes and speeds of how to play the notes, it's pretty simple.

no way! Just be sure that if you do start up again, you make a real commitment to practicing on a daily basis. I tried starting up again at 16, but didn't keep with it because I didn't have my priorities straight (I put social activities first)

your never to old to learn! you know what they say you can always teach an old dog new tricks! you just got to have the heart for it if you want it badly enough, then your bound to succeed! if my grandfather at the age of 65 can learn to use a computer you can learn to do anything at the age of sixteen!!!!!! good luck!
