Bald, in the last book I kind of got a hint that he was gay, when Harry looked in Dumbledore's pensieve and he was having an intense conversation with that other male wizard (which JKR later revealed was his lover.)

Why should it be a big deal? He is obviously not flaunting it or people would have been aware of it much sooner. As long as he is not "recruiting" the young boys, it doesn't bother me at all. I have gay friends, and even a transsexual friend. Who cares what they do in private??

Yes it does. It changes everything. Why he always liked Harry etc. Why he always supported him. First I thought it was coz he wanted to save Harry but now it can just be b/c he was in love with Harry. Oh it changes everything.

It explains why Lucius Malfoy hated him so much. What a homophobe.
