I think another question relates to this...the state of dementia! OR, perhaps the State of Denial....??? I am afraid that I have moved to the state of cynicism, so for the time being, I doubt that the state you describe exists...as long as politicians are running the place, I think what you describe is an impossibility. Very little in the State government of Nevada. But, our county government in Clark County is a different story. Three former commissioners are now "guests" of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
I recall a ballot initiative in the State of Mississippi. I believe it was in 1984. The voters were asked to vote on a proposal that would lift restrictions on government officials having contracts to provide goods and services to other levels of government. I do believe it was the first instance of trying to legalize corruption. LOL!

Trust me , no state is perfect. Florida has it's fault's. The scam of the last presidenal election was a 'trade off'...We have no oil derricks close to the Florida coast in the Gulf of Mexico, at least not while Jeb Bush ( G.W. Bush , brother) was Governer of Florida. Coinidence ! or a 'trade off' ? I want the world to be a judge... I'm just old and stupid.! After that we will discuse the St. Louis MO. connection with the archdiocy and 'organized crime' in relation to elected officals in the late 60's ! Oh Tay' Spanky ! !

I am another one from Washington state and it seems that even when we vote for something and win, our dear Governor and the legislature find a way to knock it down. It is as if we don't understand what we voted for, so it must be corrected. At times we seem to be heading backward instead of progressing forward.

No. It's certainly not mine...our current governor shouldn't even be in office, but a bunch of dead people voted for her in her native county (which happens to be the largest one). I can't wait for the next election, I hate what she's doing to our state.
I live in Washington.

Utah is a pretty good state, and corruption is not rampant, but it also is not immune from such.
