Recently; there has been some discussion over whether or not the Trinity United Church of Christ, which Obama has indicated that he is a member of, is actually a Black Seperatist or Black Supremacist Church ?? --Approximately two weeks ago; the website of the Trinity United Church of Christ had set forth their 10 " Commitments " exclusively to Black Culture, Black Community, Black Ministries, Black Families, Black Christian Experience, etc.----Today, I observed that, for reasons unknown to me, the Trinity United Church of Christ website has been changed considerably whereby the 10 " Commitments " have been changed to 10 " Points of Vision " & many of the previous all Black references have now been deleted & now replaced with less denominational " Points of vision " re: " adoration ", etc. or " Christian Experience " as opposed to " Black Christian Experience "? - Did anyone else notice this change ? Do you think this was an attempt ( sincere or otherwise ) to change their image ?

I did not see the web site before the change. In fact, I just discovered the site January 1, 2008, when a friend E-mailed me.

The top 10 I saw were enough to convince me there is reverse discrimination here.

I have visited many black churches, and some frequently, and as friendly as they are, it is not hard to see through. I love the worship, love the Word of God, but using God to push your "not-so-hidden" agenda is low!

Check out Trinity book store on line.

If anything, I say this brain-washing has pushed the buttons of many who are tired of being expected to apologize for things neither they nor their ancestry had any part in. It is about America, isn't it? America's future, not past. Not Africa's future either. Not black, white, male, female, but AMERICA.

Keep posting these questions, more people are "waking up".

And LandofM....since when are black people minority?

Why not? They have been given a great deal of attention lately and probably wanted to assure the voters that they are a Church for all Christians, not just Blacks. Christianity is Christianity, whether it's for Blacks or Whites, and this is the message they are sending.

You are very observant to notice something like this. Websites are constantly being changed and it usually has no meaning, other than to clarify or enhance certain standards.

Obama's religion is very unimportant to me, because I feel that religion is a private matter between man (or woman) and God. I can't stand these Candidates who do nothing but harp about their religion, because we have had terrible experiences with a President who does just that! Let them just shut up and pray!

What I worry about is intelligence, experience and ability, because we sure need that to help our country dig out of the pit Bush has led us into. The website of a Candidate's church is of very little importance.

This is getting to sound like an Obama poll.

If I were a Domocrat I would vote for him especially since he might help with the plight of minorities(as in color).

But I will probably have to vote for a Repulican just to offset some decocratic vote!

Religion and politics must be separate. Obama must not meddle with the church in order that he can win as President.

OK I grew up in the United Church Of Christ and they are not a black separatist church; in fact, the majority of UCC churches are white...I'm white, as my avatar indicates.
