She was the leader of a political party and had a good chance of winning an election for president.

Muslims are afraid to give women equal rights but hide it under the name of protection, you know protect them out of all they own. However they may have seen what happens in the West when women take over control. Men are then as unhappy as the women are. Maybe just maybe they have a point

Hehe, no worries! You weren't sounding naive because no one can know everything! ;)

Benazir Bhutto was a Pakistani politician who chaired the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), a centre-left political party in Pakistan. She was the first woman elected to lead a Muslim state, having twice been Prime Minister of Pakistan (1988–1990; 1993–1996).

Of course Pakistan allows women to have rights! But it IS a common misconception that Muslim country's strangle their women =P figuratively speaking that is. No, not at all. The truth in fact is that, Muslim women all around the world make their very own decisions on a daily basis. We are free to believe what we want to believe. We're not being constricted anywhere around the world.

Benazir Bhutto was the eldest child of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. This gave her the access to leadership after her late father.

Both her father and herself have been removed from office a few times each for alleged corruption [i.e. they were thinking she/her father looted the country and was playing around with their money or bribing etc.]

Benazir followed in her father's footsteps in hopes of democracy for Pakistan but was assassinated whilst leaving a campaign rally for the PPP.

Benazir was elected as a Prime minister of Pakistan twice, and twice she had the opportunity to creat that great nation or country that she promised each and everytime before the election and never did what she said that she would after the election, she was just like any other politician, make promises but never deliver.

however according to sources :

Benazir was a great wife to her husband
Benazir was a great mother to her children
Benazir was a great daughter for her parents
Benazir was a great friend to her friends
Benazir was a great sister to her sister and brothers
Benazir was not so great as a PPP Leader or as a Prime minister

That's not right that women have no rights in Pakistan. It is true that there are lot of difficulties for women in Pakistan. But it is obvious that they fought and got their freedom too and made it possible for Benazir to be elected as primeminister of Pakistan.
Yes,she was our leader and she inspired us to get rid of backwardness and illiteracy. She inspired us with her courage and immense willpower. She always took the critism positively.I like her both as a leader and a person. And most of all she has created millions like her.

She was a great women, an outstanding person. I heard a lot about her, and I never heard something bad that was proven about her. She was a great mother and a great leader, if she came to power the whole world would benefit from it, or at least the park of the world that wants peace. Now nobody knows what will happen to Pakistan, she was this countries last hope for a bright future in the coming few years, and now she is gone...

Well first of all she was the first female prime minister of pakistan and as of current she was the major leader of the people's party in pakistan and was running against Musharraf to be the president of pakistan and without her the presidential election is a one horse race and her assassination has caused a major uprising of violence in pakistan and this effects our country because pakistan has many neculear weapons and if those fall in to the wrong hands it could be a threat to every nation

She was a former prime minister of Pakistan. What the Islamic terrorists didn't like about her is that she wore lipstick and eye makeup.
