I'm studying performing arts in England and would love to do stage and/or tv work in the states some time in the future. Would an English accent give me any sort of advantage!?

Getting an agent is easy if you have what it takes. One problem though if you are just starting to act and you live in england most would want you to live close by. Because if they find out about a job like as an extra they might only find out the day before you need to be there and it takes to long to get there from england especially if it is in L.A because it would be like a 13 hour flight and to much money to spend to be an extra.

There is a law that you have to be a citizen to work in film and theatre in the USA. Better try to get established there and then a producer here could make temporary arrangements to use you in a film he was making if he wanted to do so.
