In the 2008 Prez primaries. I'm talking a serious test/quiz on the internet somewhere that'll let me know which party I am and which one to vote for. Candidates by issues would be cool.

I figure I'm Republican, but I also agree with some Democrats.

I think first, you have a session with your self, try to decide what kind person I'm I, staunch party line type person, do I want changes etc..
Then you have to have a close look at who are supporting these candidates. Good example is Lieberman, representing the Israel lobby, endorsing McCain. Now one big thing the Israel lobby would love to have us do is destabilize Iran just like we destabilize Iraq, if that idea appeals to you then you should think about supporting and voting for McCain now on the other hand Hucabee talks about bring this country back to god, if that's what appeals to you then that's who you should support, so on with the other candidates.

Interesting question!
I live in a city which is strongly Democratic. I consider myself a Conservative Republican (mainly because my folks were).
I spend a lot of time reading the papers (mainly local) and even more time researching on the web. I also ask others (friends and family) who they like and why. Most people will tell you their thoughts. A few consider it a private matter and no one else's business. That's fine. I can respect that.
Personally, I have never voted along party lines. I don't believe in it. I have always voted for (who I thought was) the best qualified person, regardless of party.
I will continue to vote in this manner and will strive to teach others to vote for whomever they believe to be the best qualified person for the job. Just do your homework and get to know all of the candidates. Even the folk you may think will never make it.
In this manner, one day, we will elect someone who will do good for our country. Not someone 'bought' by big business.
Good Luck.

Go to issues2000.org, there will be some good quizzes for you to take. It matches you up with your candidate. But I would also suggest to look up the stances of candidates on the issues. Don't rely too much on the media. Look at your favorite candidates' biographies (not their websites). Remember to look for anything that will encourage or discourage you from voting for them.

I found this link fairly interesting although it only covers the surface issues and not the qualities of character which is truly what we should be looking at.

As a bit of biased, to my own candidate, reference I offer this interview with Dr Ron Paul. I think if you are at all concerned with the direction of this country you should take an honest look at what he has to say.

Vote for the one that you most agree with.
Just remember they are all politicians! And can't be trusted to change as soon as they get in office.

Do not vote , instead form a group of dedicated freedom fighters willing to die for the cause of true freedom .
They should identify targets and eliminate them with extreme prejudice .
In the words of our own CIA freedom must be defended and those who oppose freedom must be eliminated .
