I'm looking to get a Wii soon, and right now I'm faced with the problem of money. I figured a good way of coming up with some money would be to trade in some old stuff I don't need (Gamecube, games, DVDs, etc.)

Where are good places that will definitely take and give back decent money for:

a) Gamecube: if I'm getting a Wii, I won't be needing this anymore. [Condition = good; "reset" button gets stuck though]
- What parts do I need to trade in with it (e.g: one working controller, etc.)
- What do I keep (e.g: extra controllers, memory cards)

b) Video games: old games I don't play anymore for GCN, PS2, etc. [Condition = all are almost new]
- Where can I trade them in for good prices
- What console games WON'T they take anymore?

c) DVDs: where can I get rid of all my old or crappy movies?! [Condition: almost new]
- Where can I unload this useless clutter and get decent cash?

---

Also: What comes packaged with the Wii, and what extras should I buy?

By the way, I'd like to add that I live in the Montreal region... are there any places nearby where I can do my trade-ins?

Okay, in you're situation you have a couple of choices. FOr your Gamecube, look around for a local GAMESTOP or pawn shop. I have a cash converters store nearby my town and I use it often to sell off my used games and by new ones. However just choose Gamestop for the gamecube. They pay alot. Give in everything except one controller. They can come in handy when playing the wii. Sell everything else. Wii is expensive. For your many games drop them off by a pawn shop or something. to get good prices, HAGGLE! or at least when selling them act like they are golden blocks. That really works. If it's a pawn shop, they'll take ANYTHING. I mean, I once sold a GAME BOY COLOR for $6.00! Which is totally awesome. But it probably won't work for a company like Gamestop. As for DVDs, I have NO IDEA. I'm so sorry. I usually keep every DVD I own. What comes with the wii?
The Wii Sports Game disc(Which is actually pretty cool) A wii mote.(Primary controller) A nunchuk(side controller) The Wii(Duh!) A wiimote jacket.( I think this should be included it the current packages, nintendo added it during November I think. I didn't know. I bought it when it first came out.) Stuff to get after the Wii:
1. Extra Wii motes and Nunchuks. (Wii is great for multiplayer)
2.Zelda: Twilight princess. (AMAZING graphics)
3. Super Mario Galaxy (It's the current best rated game)
4. Wii Chargers. It's really bothersome to keep replacing the batteries.
5.SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL( When it comes out)
6. Rayman raving rabbids 1or2 ( If you have more than one player)
7. A sense of caution ( Wiimotes can massacre your TV)
I hope you adventure with the wii goes on well!

P.S. When selling thing for money, act like a fine businessman, funding billions for a toothpick, haggle but don't Beg, and remember, if the storekeeper really is too tough to bend, just leave and seek another.

There are a ton of places you can list, sell trade in your stuff. One place I know is notorious is gamestop and EB games. Just bring it in and trade it in for store credit. Then you use that with the money you have for a Wii (good luck finding one). You could also try ebay and list it up there and you might get more money up there, then if you traded it in. Finally thing you can do is go to your local craigslist and post an ad. It is free and takes only a few mins.

If you finally get the money to buy a Wii what comes in it is:
1 Wii console
1 wiimote
1 nunchuck
1 sensor bar
1 power cord
1 component cable cord
1 Wii sports (packed with 5 games)
bunch of manuals and stuff inside.
If you like to play with friends I say buy at least one more Wiimote and nunchuck. Also get the best game of this gen Mario Galexy and reserve Super Smash Brother Brawl. If you like war type games then get medal of honor hero 2 (also has online play and it is good). There are a ton of games and you just need to find the right games that you like. I could say that this game blow ***, but you might think it is great. So it is just preference.

I would sell on ebay, do not sell to outfits like GameStop, they give you a buck a game, etc, it's like a slap in the face.
