i broke all five toes on one foot before. i was wearing platform sandals about 8 years ago, and stepped on the side of my friend's foot. i fell, and scraped the hell out of my knee, ripped my pants, and pretty much screwed up my toes. to top it off, it was in the church parking lot, so i had to go into church like that...

I stepped outside on what I thought was a wet sidewalk from the rain, the minute I put my foot on the approach to the step.... my foot slipped ending up on my bottom, and the back of my rib cage hit the step. I hurt a little and my arm was sore as well. Immediately I turned myself on my knees, and crawled back into the house .
When I started getting stabbing pain, in I went for an Xray The rib was fractured, and I needed some pain medicine.
There always seems to be that feeling of this being dumb just after a fall.It Since my bottom has some padding, I think that I was fortunate, it could have been much worse .
You can be grateful as well it could have been your wrist or, the elbow and that is much more complex than a finger. Is the finger splinted ? Take some Calcium D for the bones and get well soon . Happy New Year

I was bicycle riding, on an old ten-speed, the ones with the thin tires, and my front tire caught in a railroad track. When the bike flipped, I fell, and the only thing that got hurt was my index finger when I hit the ground. Broke it. Still have the bump where it healed, and it hurts when the weather changes.
Broke a toe when I got up in the dark in the middle of the night, got disoriented for some reason (no, I was sober, just half asleep) and tripped over a rocker. Broke my little toe.

I was stripping wallpaper and climbed on a chair with a wobbly leg (the chair, not mine!) As the chair collapsed I reached out to break my fall, catching my right pinkie on the door frame, dislocating it (the pinkie, not the door frame!)
The finger stuck out sideways at a ghastly angle from the 2nd joint from the top, and I took myself to A&E. It never hurt at all, just felt a bit tight. They told me it was both broken and dislocated. They reset it under local anaesthetic and strapped it to the next finger, and it's still a bit bent after 6 years.
