This has happened to me twice over the past few weeks....and it felt great each time. In both cases, they were former Cambridge students who have moved back to other countries after taking their degrees....and it was great to catch up with them!

At a high school friends' wedding in September.
There are no friends like old friends and it was at a time when I most needed to be reminded that I have been loved by these people for years and years.
They asked no questions of me that I wasn't prepared to answer about my life situation and they just spent 4-6 hours loving on me and letting me know they were there for me in WHATEVER I needed.
It was the best medicine ever.

And I am looking forward to being able to chat with you in 20 years and have the same feelings...

A few months ago i received a letter from a close friend that i went to Jr. High and High School with. We have been close ever since. It is strange how you drift apart! It was fun remembering the past. Like our old science teacher we called MONKEY FACE MILLER. I hope that we learned some respect for others since then!

Sadly enough, the last time I met up with my childhood friend was about 2 months ago at her father's funeral. We've known each other for 14 years and we've always managed to meet up about once a year, usually during the summer months. This summer, her dad was very ill and then he died. It was pretty sad seeing her go through that.

Last week I was at the store and this lady comes up to me and says "I used to know you ! " And then goes on for the next 20 minutes telling me what good friends we used to be way back then. When in fact that was so far from the truth it was funny.
