Full Metal Panic! was hilarious. About a young boy about 16 who was raised in a secret military organization and has fought in wars since he was 8. His new mission is to protect a high school girl and the secrets she has inside her mind. Lots of high-school comedy and romance, mecha, and military stuff.
A really short OVA that is good (but a little creepy) is Pet Shop of Horrors. Its only 4 episodes long. Its about this creepy "Pet Shop" in Chinatown which seems to be connected to many murders. They sell extremely rare "pet" and many supernatural pets as well. Everything is fine as long as the buyers follow the rules the owner tells them upon purhcse, but many fail to, and typically die. Its basically the Twilight Zone but with more freaky stuff and myths.

I finished rewatching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya in DVD order this morning. I liked it better than when I watched it the first time, it went from 6 to 8/10.
If rewatching doesn't count, I finished watching ef - a tale of memories last night. It was really good, amazing animation, music, characters, and the last episode op. The only thing I didn't like is that it's only 12 episodes long. This is probably the only drama/romance anime I've seen and liked. 9/10.

Does re-watching count? The last one I finished was Clannad After Story. One of my favorite animes ever. The last one I finished for the first would be Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, like a week ago. I wouldn't consider it one of my all time favorites but I still loved it. Was hilarious, good romance, all around fun anime! I'm really glad I finally decided to watch it. Kinda off topic.. is School Days sad? Its on my list of series to watch.

I agree I like watching short animes as well.
I finished Death Note [which by the way was awesome!] and then started watching Love Hina [against my better judgement...] After I finished Love Hina, I just finished Love Hina Again -- probably the shortest anime I ever watched - it was only three episodes!

I've just recently finished Air Gear and have passed the half way mark for Tenjho Tenge. Before that I had finished rewatching Last Exile but this time I watched it dubbed.
