What do you think of these names?

Question

Hi Im thinking of names for my baby and me and my husband like

Keanu Lucas , Lucas being the middle name for a boy

and

Lyra Lilly for a girl with lily being the middle name

We probably go for this any way but I just wanted to know what opinions people have on weather they are nice names or not

Ive always liked Lyra since I read Northern Lights years ago and I said thats a lovely name and would name my child that as no one has heard of it and no one is named it, but its not because of the film,at all,
And keanu is an unusual name to that noone is called.

Im just thinking that you cannot really shorten these names as there is nothing that goes with them to make nicknames out of.

My husband like the Keanu and I liked Lucas, this would of been a first name, but he doesnt want to change it round lol, but we might get him to lol,

As for Lyra Lilly, I wasnt too sure on the Lilly and I said at the start of this question that I might go with them anyways, But this is a it hard to pronounce all together lol.
Ill try and think of another middle name but I still like lyra since I read the book years ago.

lol I feel sorry for the people who might be reading this and are actually called these names. As nearly every answer I have got is not in favour of the names, I cant see how they wont age well as they are not even common names for everyone to even know. It might start something off where more people will get use to how they sound and will like it.

I personally love the name Lyra and Lucas, and Keanu and Lilly, but I wouldnt have lily as a first name as its too old and all the other common names are also to old and not new and different which is what I was aiming for.
Rather than the simple names,
Eddison. which is just like edward which is an old name,

Mary or David, everyone will of been like oh there lovely names.

I was thinking about paige and ebony for a girl, but there old names, and for a boy theres names that have been going round for 100 years and every kid is called the same name.
I personnaly like Dwaine or Wade

Plus I was thinking that as Keanu is seen as an older actor, children wont even assciate the name with the actor which is what we want, I dont think keanu reeves is going to be thought of as soon as a person mentions the babys name, Im certainly not naming it after him, as for one thing I like Chad Michael Murry but im not going to call him Chad.

Maybe the parents will no about the actor but the kid wont,
Its like my aunty is called Anona, I thought it was a unusual name but it wasnt until I asked when I found out it was an actor form years ago, I hadnt even heard of

I love Lucas for first or middle name. Not too crazy about Keanu. I love love love Lilly. I like Lyra too. But I like the sound of Lilly Lyra more than the other way around. These are very nice names.

Keanu is not a bad name in itself, but it's so completely identified with the actor, basically you'll be naming him after the actor whether you like it or not, and I personally think it's kind of tacky to name your child after an actor. As well as unwise, since next year the actor could turn out to be a pedophile or something, who knows. Better to name him after someone you know well. Lucas is a good name, though, I've always liked it. Maybe reverse it to Lucas Keanu, where he has the name you want but isn't called Keanu?

Lyra is pretty but also very much identified with the girl from The Golden Compass. Weirdly, I don't think it's as tacky to name someone after a fictional character than an actor-- a fictional character can mean something to you in a way an actor you've never met really can't-- but I'd still think long and hard about it beforehand. But I wouldn't object to Lyra too much. Lily is a gorgeous name, but Lyra Lily is just too many L's. It sounds silly, like a cartoon character (Minnie Mouse, Lyra Lily, you get the idea). I would go with either Lyra or Lily, but not together.

Like Keanu Lucas (an unusual first name, simple middle name works really well) and I'd say the same for Lyra Lilly...except Lyra reminds me of Lycra. Sorry!

Keanu for Keanu Reeves? Get a grip! Lyra for the character in the Golden compass, which is at best a pale bastardisation of an excellent piece of fiction (they even had to dumb down the title for the US market!)? Marginally better but there will be at least 6 of them in her year at school.

What's wrong with Luke and Lily? They're both perfectly nice manes and won't look stupid by the time the kid's 14.

if i was you id change the names around lily is a lovely name for girl so maybe lily lyra and lucas keanu for a boy cant say i like the name keanu tho...its your child so go with whatever you like yourself.

I don't like Keanu, mainly because so many Vicki pollard lookalikes in the mid ninety's called there kids that, Lilly's nice but better as a first name and double barreled like Lilly Rose or Lilly Grace.
