i have a 3 legged dog, she lost the entire left back leg when she was hit by a truck. it happened maybe 3 years ago, you would never know it when she's running. she runs like the wind. i hope she doesn't think about her missing leg. most people don't realize its gone unless i point it out to them. Actually tripod dogs really do seem to forget they are are short of a leg - that's a great thing - humans should do so well. The only risk is that they have more strain on the one front leg left and can injure it more easily - and that can be a big problem. So try and prevent her from doing things like jumping off of furniture or any heights that might cause an injury. Cute dog!!!

When I was young a three legged dog would chase me and my friends when we were cycling. He was fast and vicious and was religious in being on time for our twice weekly appointment

The only way to escape his hateful fangs was to take a sharp corner, he was missing a back leg and was unable to sort his differential lock on sharp corners so he'd go sliding and hopping on past and we'd be on our way

Good times... I never blamed him, he had it tough. I heard he went kinda funny after the farmer drowned four pups that were rumoured to be his

Yeah, and he is blind in one eye. (He was in an accident.)
Best of all, his name is Lucky! I think he doesn't even miss his fourth leg and one eye. He just loves life!

oh Catz! awesome photos! You are one cat who sure loves dogs!
