Yeah, lots of people. I don't play in any local groups anymore, to many severely disturbed people in our local play environment, but I play online on a play by post site. Better players, better games, less non-game drama. I'm 43 and I know a number of players in their 50's.

I think quitting after a certain age has more to do with a lack of free time for those with families than it being inappropriate for adults. I know plenty of people in their late 20's through 40's who used to play but just can't find the time now.

I do think we're going to reach a critical point soon, the first generation role players are retiring, which means they have lots of time. And they aren't all that interested in Bingo, dominoes or shuffleboard. D&D night at the retirement center is only a matter of time. :p

All you have to do to answer that question, is go to Gencon, or atleast look at the website, and see the pics of the event. You will see the scope of how many people play the game, it has even now become a little more trendy in hollywood, due to some stars that admit playing the game. Its has grown from leaps and bounds it always haves its periods, way it seems like you cant find players,..but then all of a sudden when you turn the corner, wearing a D&D convention t-shirt,..you hear the voice, from some one,..Hey do you play?
