Unfortunately the Patriots will probably win best sports story of the year. I think it should be when Appalachian State beat Michigan though.

Baseball should be the story of the year. September was awesome. The playoffs were dramatic. Colorado winning the N.L. was a great story. Boston winning showed the best team survived. The Cubs, Indians, and Diamondbacks came back from off seasons and became contenders. The Mets were the anti-climatic team. There was no shortage of individual achievements without evening mentioning the Home Run record.
The Super Bowl was a dud and the NBA Finals were a dud. The NCAA championships were exciting as always. The Pats record is only meaningful if they win in the playoffs.
