NO!!! Especially not in the first trimester. The heat can cause damage to the developing fetus. Look up the exact temperature but I would avoid it completely until later in pregnancy. I went in our hot tub during my 9th month, but we turned it down to 96 - 98 degrees.

absolutely not. The heat from a jacuzzi can raise your body temp and can actually cause birth defects. A doctor can give you more details, but under no circumstances should you get into a jacuzzi, hot tub and/or a sauna. IT IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. A warm bath or shower is fine, but the water temp in a jacuzzi is far too high, especially during your first trimester when the child is developing the most.

The Jacuzzi can raise your body temperature excessively which is not good. I wouldn't do it.

Better not, extremely high temps, like those in a jacuzzi, are not good for your fetus. Better to be safe than sorry....

It's not good any time during pregnancy but the first 3 months of pregnancy are when you should be the most careful about what you do. Don't do it. Or if you really feel you must don't stay in for very long. But I really just wouldn't do it.

Its safe as long as the temp isnt over 101 degrees. And dont stay in too long.

I just went through this same thing, and asked my doc about it. I set the tub to 100 and it was still very relaxing. I'd stay in for about 10 mins, then get out and just soak my feet until I was cool again, and then get back in, etc.

"Can I use the Jacuzzi?

Regulating your body temperature is important during pregnancy. Studies suggest that increasing your temperature above 38.9C (102 F) for more than ten minutes in the first seven weeks of pregnancy can increase the risk of miscarriage or some neural tube defects such as spina bifida. Avoid overheating during the first trimester of pregnancy, and only use Jacuzzis occasionally and for short periods of time (less than ten minutes) for the rest of your pregnancy. "The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) states that becoming overheated in a hot tub is not recommended during pregnancy. ACOG also recommends that pregnant women never let their core body temperature rise above 102.2º F. According to the Organization of Teratology Information Services (OTIS), a body temperature of 101º F and above can raise concerns during pregnancy.

Hot tubs are often factory programmed to maintain a water temperature of approximately 104º F. It takes only 10-20 minutes in a hot tub to raise your body temperature to 102º F or higher. To maintain a steady temperature, water is circulated and re-circulated through the hot tub to pump out cold water and pump in hot water. For this reason, staying in a hot tub or jacuzzi for less than 15 minutes is recommended for pregnant women. You should also make sure that you do not allow the jets to forcefully propel water near your vagina.

A hot bath, which is not uncomfortable or scalding, is a safer way to relax. In a bath much of your upper body will remain out of the water, making you less likely to overheat. Additionally, the water in a bath begins to cool off (as opposed to a hot tub) further reducing any risk of overheating. However, if you are prone to urinary tract infections, a warm shower may be the way to go."

Being overweight can lead to an overproduction of certain hormones that disrupt ovulation. Your monthly cycle may be less regular, your ovulation may be less often, and you can decrease the chances of getting pregnant. On the other side, being under weight is also very responsible for making you infertile. Little body fat means your body may not able to produce enough hormones to ovulate each month or sustain a pregnancy if you get pregnant. An expert says that exercise may help you in maintaining a healthy weight. Just do not over do exercise. Over exercises also raises miscarriages risk.
