I've had one for months but just had an MRI and was told it was torn. Lately it's been feeling a lot better with rest, mild stretching, etc, in fact no pain. Haven't seen the specialist yet but I'd like a pre-opinion.

If the meniscus is damaged around the edge, then it would most likely heal, if near the center, then it might not heal, the main factor hear is the amount of vascularization (the amount of blood vessels near the tissue in question).

The more blood vessels, the faster the healing.

In terms of menisci, there are a lot of blood vessels on the edges but not in the regions towards the centers.
