i believe it was a famous British subject who once said..."the Americans will always come up with a correct solution to a problem; after they have attempted all the wrong ones first". this is so true of our amateurish, blunt force, lack of cunning efforts in the "war on terror". the alliance with Pakistan's leadership is just one piece of that ineptness.

First, don't believe the hype. This administration had to see the writing on the wall and in fact might have supported it. Who urged BB to come to Pakistan?

Islamic Terrorist? Wasn't president Kennedy Assassinated? Then Bobby Kennedy, then Martin Luther King? Then Malcolm X. surely these men were all threats to the powers that be.......... it was political. The U.S. gave Pakistan over 6 billion!!!! It has been reported that part of that money was used for the Pakistani military. Pakistan It is a Muslim country but not necessarily run by practicing Muslims as George Bush is in a Christian dominated country but is not necessarily a Christian leader. All nations share a commonality - struggle for political parties . Pakistan is not an Islamic state but a majority Muslim country. Who is supporting Musharaf in the first place? Just like we supported Saddam Hussein, and the Shah of Iran, Pinochet......all dictators (there are more) Musharaf is the puppet and the U.S are the puppet masters. Just like the U.S was wrong about supporting Saddam during the Regan and George Bush Senior era- they are wrong for supporting Musharaf today (a dictator) Yes, our government has made another mistake-if Pakistan is the center of Islamic terror, the U.S is the center of Christian Terror (source: history) .

If the Bush administration made the decision to support someone you can bet it was a mistake and will turn out wrong. This is not the "thinking man's" administration. By the way, which nation is the center of "ALL Islamic Terrorism"?

before 9/11 they had a trade boycott with Pakistan over the nuclear weapons and India, Pakistan is supporting terrorism by not getting the Taliban or Bin Laden in the border regions with Afghanistan. This assassination is throwing gas onto a powder keg, and now people are throwing light matches at it. Its not good

It's our typical way of doing business in the middle east. Either we form an alliance or put them in power and eventually use it as an excuse to bomb them or an enemy formed by them. It really is an investment.
I remember back in the 90's my father bought a hunting knife made in Pakistan and told me that this is unusual because of their support of violence and terrorism in the middle east. 4 years later, a new president begins to talk about how Pakistan is our new bestest buddy because they're key for our success in Afghanistan and Iraq, and pretty soon, Syrankorea or themselves.
I give credit to this administration. They've fooled more Americans in more ways than any other in the free press world.

You have to give credit to the administration for getting Bhutto back in Pakistan in an attempt to make a transition away from Musharraf's rule while keeping the country stable. However, by putting her in the role of "Ally of the US" they kind of put a target on her back.

Pakistan has a large percentage of the population that supports the efforts of the Taliban and Al Qaida. If given the choice between supporting a democratic country that wishes for the U.S. to be detroyed and a dictator that will advance our interests, I'd choose the Latter.

It's so hard to digest and comprehend, why US is doing, what she is/been doing and when'll be the end of all these...!!
And always blame the so called '''TERRORISM''' ,
'NOT' the reasons that have caused, created it along with unwarranted acts of America and it's despicable foreign policies!!
Forgive me for the following;
In regards to US's policies, Once I'd heard this expression while travelling overseas that, more you stir the pot of sh..t, more smell will rise!!
This is exactly what US, this Adm. is doing!

No, we had no choice. We needed an ally in Pakistan and Musharraf was it. He has helped us to fight the Taliban and al qaeda, although not as much as he could. Perhaps this assassination is the wake-up call that Musharraf needs to go after the radical Islamists in his country.
The foolish Dimocrat presidential candidates who are criticizing our ally Musharraf have proven that they do not have what it takes to lead our country. A great leader has to do business with unsavory characters like Musharraf, in order to keep our country safe. Our foreign policy should not be to promote Democracy, but to protect American.
