Here is a thought
Stop thinking in political terms - democratic non democratice dictator etc
Lets put it in tems all can grasp and understand
We pay money OUR money to these politicans - and have no right to fire them in the middle of a contracted period of 4 yrs but our other employee's who we also pay can if they think it is a good idea
Wow who else has this employer employee relationship ?
Politicans get their wages from the same place welfare reciepients do - The tax payer
The institutions we have built belong to us not some short term employee on a contract basis called a PM or a President
This simple grass roots change of thinking could be the biggest move in the world it "we" got our collective butts off the comfy chair
I invest as little as 1,000 dollars in a company I get a pie chart of who was paid what and where the money came from and went to
When have we gotten that ? How about a salary review in the form of a referendum ?
We have a group of employee's that we do not watch and can hike their own pay at will who are free to write their own job reviews
WOW
I am a share holder in this nation and you are in yours Isn't it time to act like the employer and start calling the public servants and saying "you did what with my money ?"
Oh the rich pay more the rich pay more
BULL Cookies they do
They pay the least because they have the lawyers who help them cheat the already biased system - why is that ? The employers haven't walked though the office in 50 yrs plus and then wondered what went wrong
1 guy pays a million and a million people pay 10 grand - do the math - All that is needed is for the general public to have a sense of ownership that goes beyond some need to follow a flag
Hey that is my flag it follows me buddy I don't follow it

Its your fault! And mine. Somewhere along this line we just stopped thinking and let them take control of our country.
It is beyond reason for people not to see that a cycle of Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton is not a democracy but an aristocracy. And still there are people that vehemently support Hillary Clinton and some that want an amendment to let G-Dub run again.
The people are force fed their opinions and views by media outlets that are owned by only 5 corporations. We bicker about Fox News and CNN and don't even talk about what the candidates they promote represent.
Consider that Rupert Murdoch one of the 5 media controllers has given personal donations to George H.W. Bush's campaign, Bill Clinton's campaign, George W Bush's campaign and now Hillary Clinton's campaign. Is he just insane or are the Bushs and Clintons just the chosen rulers of the elite?
Every election cycle, as if daring us to think, they send a candidate like Ross Perot, Ralph Nader and now Ron Paul who wants to derail their system and we as sheep ignore and discount their message and fight over which corporate puppet is going to do the least damage to our country.
After viewing this arena for the last year, I have noticed that those people who are most informed about what is happening in this country are supporting Ron Paul, and the sheep call them crazy and loons. I see people defend their choice of Hillary Clinton by saying "at least she isn't George Bush" when a) George Bush can't even run again b) that is a completely illogical basis for supporting a candidate, why not say "at least he isn't James K. Polk" and c) she is exactly like George W Bush, she has supported everyone of his initiatives and will continue his policies with just a cosmetic socialist flavor. The elite don't care if its socialism or facism which control us just that they can control us.
They, both Dem and Rep, allow our southern border to be pourous and allow millions to flood through creating a divide between us and them so that our eyes are off the real enemy. And they will foster enough hatred and animosity between us that when the final takeover happens we will blame and fight each other and whoever wins we will be weaker for them to exploit.
And we just sit back and watch American Idol andDancing with the Stars and think those in power are doing whats best for us "the people" and not for themselves and their cronies. And I'm just as guilty, hell it's football season and the Vikes are making a playoff run I can't be bothered with trivialities.

First I need to point out the USA is a republic, not a democracy.
Secondly, the president of the USA does not have the power of a king. More important elections come every two years here for the legislative body.
I think the biggest flaw in our system is that the president of the USA has too much power in formulating and administrating US foreign policy. The CIA, as example, shouldn't be directed as a cabinet post attached to the executive branch. In my opinion, the CIA should be a commission instead, answerable to the congress and not the president.

You raise a good point, think if more American realized how the system really worked and especially how worthless that activity called voting really was there might be some hard quick changes.
Will Rogers said back in the thirties, "our politicians are the best money can buy".

Yes, as long as the choice is made through a voting system that the populace can participate in with either direct votes or indirect votes.

As an alternative we could have mob rule, where even the most ignorant have a say-so in what happens to you. A skateboarder's paradise;
