when was the last time you visted egypt?
egypt has changed alots but it really matters since when?
regaring the pollution dont worry u can live away from pollution centres away from the cente of cairo city where there r beutefull compounds full of gardens and clean air dont worry,
there is nothing wrong with being a female the only proplem is that when men in egypt see a western girl or even a girl that is wearing exposed clothes they tend to think that she is opened for flirting sorry 2 say but they r sick all wht u have 2 do is avoid crowrdy places and if u had 2 just wear clothes covering most of your body also no need for extra tight clothes if u know wht i mean,
but be ready for a huge diffrence in most aspects its a 3rd world country yet there are so many beutefull aspects where is extra excelllent in this world trust me for this but it depends on the person and his needs, why are u getting back?what are expecting to find when u get back?try 2 have a short visit before you make your final decison,
if you needed a dr for your asthma please contact me as a i am a dr and i know good hospitals and drs who could be of help ,hope u get healthy soon and u never need 2 go 2 a dr.

Cairo is a huge, mad, chaotic city that has the craziest, frenetic traffic that you could ever wish to see or experience.
Having said that it has a charm that makes it so uniquely Cairo and if you can get used to taking your life in your hands and saying a salat every time you want to cross a street it is a good city with a heart
But as you have breathing problems it may not always be good for you to be out doors there. But I guess you could wear a surgical mask, just kidding you but I have seen people in Tokyo and Asian cities wearing them due to the air pollution.
I do take asthma seriously as my son suffers from it..
Pinka, if Cairo is not good for you then come and live in Luxor near me!
But if you have to be in Cairo because if Uni then get a flat out in the suburbs don't even think of living in Dokki,Downtown or anywhere near heavy industry.
You will fall into the Uni life and make friends quickly so don't stress about that aspect,as Caireans are very friendly people.

Hi
I spent 6 months living in Egypt and just loved it, I was in Suez and Cairo. The people are just soo cool. Some men tend to be sexist toward western women so be ready for that. Cairo is very very dusty and some parts dirty. Its very busy and chaotic but fun too. Lots of petty theives so watch your handbag at all times and be wary. There are also a lot of very clever fraudsters too so be wary about what people tell you.
Generally the people are very nice, some uni students are a bit aggro toward westerners. It has some wonderful history and the people are proud. Make friends and you will treated like one of the family although many are very private. Respect their religion as it is very special to them.
Have fun.

Ya gameel YOU ARE LOVED! Do I have to shout it at you so you'd believe it?!
I was waiting for others to answer this question, since I really had no idea what to tell you. I myself have no idea what to expect while I am living in Egypt! Honestly, every day can be like a whole new adventure! loool I can tell you expect a lot of friendly people, a lot of love, and a lot of traffic!
As for the pollution, I am suffering from that with my daughter. She has lots of allergies too, and is suffering from problems, alhamdulilah for everything. I was actually waiting for hasafer to answer this query of yours. Honestly, he can give you a much better answer concerning this subject. I take advantage of him all the time and get free consultations! ;)
You wanted funny .... hmmmmmmmm let me think ... Well I remember when I was a kid just returning to Egypt from the States it was like a cultural shock for me! I still remember seeing chickens running in the streets for the first time and the surprise that evoked! I had trouble learning to speak Arabic again ... spoke funny like half English half Arabic in the same sentence, and even combined Arabic and English in a single word sometimes. Once my mom asked me what I was doing, so I answered "I'm il3abing"! (playing!!!)
To make a long story short, you will need a period of time to adjust, and things may seem strange and different at first, but believe me you will love it once you get used to it. Personally, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world despite all the problems of every day life. Just learn to expect the unexpected and take it with a good sense of humour!
Welcome to Egypt ya gameel. XOXOXOX

It relies upon on what you're able to do in Egypt. existence right here is harder of direction and hundreds of thousands are seeking comparable issues [jobs, food, safeguard ..and so on] no longer sufficient components for the eighty hundreds of thousands [a minimum of no honest distribution of wealth] in case you're able to make investments or you have already an furnish to artwork or to do some thing in Egypt, it would be stable to return now. If no longer and you prefer to return besides later, attempt to keep some stable money and be taught the thank you to make company [perfect to Egypt] you additionally could make sort of company which you will shuttle to Egypt and out of doorways Egypt, which would be between the main comfortable suggestions for many persons. in case you end your training and already have stable quantity of money, you are going to be able to come and make a sparkling kinfolk right here. stable success

About the only thing I can tell you is to read up on it,meaning read about the climate, weater, culture,do's and don't's, types of food eaten there. I served in the USNavy and have been to a lot of different countries and that's what I did. Ask others who have been to Egypt. Watch the Discovery channel,Travel channel. Sometimes they broadcast very informative programs.
