Ownership of news and broadcast outlets has already affected US politically. When you study who controlls the media and the amount of real free press in today's media, it is clear why so many are turning to the internet for alternatives to the controlled U.S. media. Independent newspapers are a thing of the past. Does anyone serious rely on Fox for news these days? CNN is sounding more like an arm of the President's PR department (exception: Lou Dobbs) Even the history channel shows military documentaries at critical times politically.
