These pumps are not really that hard to install, first after the pump is out , make sure the pump rod is up, if not ,get some to check it while you turn engine over, after getting to the top, look right at the front of the motor where the fuel pump sits, there is a 9/16 bolt , unscrew the bolt , might take a wrench, put in a longer bolt, screw it in until it just touches the fuel pump rod,{ with the fuel pump rod up}, don't screw it in very tight , just tight enough to hold the rod up , then install your fuel pump.

Make sure the pump lever is engaging the fuel pump push rod...many times when installing the pump, the lever can slip to one side of the pushrod. Rotate the engine so that the pushrod is on the base of it's eccentric cam gear---that is, fully recessed in the engine and coat the pushrod with vaseline to keep it from slipping down when installing the pump. Install the pump as straight as possible to it's mounting holes and bolt down evenly.
