He just announced that he'll retire after Carolina's season finale at Tampa Bay on Sunday.

When he is eligible for induction (around 2012) should he be given consideration?

He is 6th all-time in pass completions, 6th in pass attempts, 6th in passing yards, 8th in passing touchdowns, 84th in passer rating, 33rd in passing yards per game, 30th in pass attempts per game, 39th in pass completions per game, 76th in pass completion percentage, 64th in games played and 37th in games started.

Um no, Favre holds the substantial documents for QB and Vinny is a bum, you play for each group interior the nfl for 18 yrs and im specific you could complete a td bypass to 70 gamers lol On a extreme word I purely dont think of hes made that a great number of an impression to be in Canton, if all it took grow to be yards to make it then very almost each and every qb that performs actually has a huge gamble to make it none of those documents are that substantial, the final touch checklist is superb yet as quickly as back he grow to be purely too INCONSISTENT

He also:

*lost the national championship game a t Miami university (I know this doesn't count)

*is close to the record for interceptions

*made only maybe 2 Pro bowls in 20+ seasons

*never won a championship game that he started at least that I know of

I like Vinny, but he is no HOFer

This is more than pretty numbers, to be elected to the Hall of Fame a player must have been among the best of his era, and Vinny never was. In 21 seasons he went to only 2 pro bowls.

He threw too many interceptions and was too inconsistent.

No

Cousin Vinny has never been to the Super Bowl. Not sure if he has even been to the Pro Bowl. How many playoff games has he won?

Vinny has managed to stay healthy, and in shape for his age. He is in every teams Rolodex in case all of their QB's get hurt. Those are not HOF credentails.

He has a good chance at making it into the Hall of Fame like any other player who retired from the NFL.

i really dont see it, you did mention all of his career statistics, but check what he did season by season. he was not consistent and he had maybe 1-2 standout years, other than that it was middle of the road-bad seasons. But i dont get a vote for HOF, but my opinion is no he will not be in the HOF.
