+Most people think coin collecting is an expensive hobby and it can be if you collect U.S. coins. There are ways of collecting that is not expensive, world coins for instance. Some people try to put together a one coin from every country and that can be inexpensive. One may also save coins that have animals , fish, ships or whatever you like. That can be inexpensive but some coins may be rare and you will pay more. It is what you consider expensive. One can buy world coins buy the pound $7 and up and go through dealers world coin box and pick up coins for .10 to .25 cents. I have coins that are worth in the thousands and some worth 10 cents. I collect for the history of the coin, medal or token not its value. One last thing, one can actually almost put together a Jefferson nickel set from change and going through rolls of nickels. The only one you won't find is the 1950-D and maybe a few others but they are not that expensive. It took me some years but I found them all.

Well if this counts as a hobby, it isn't expensive because I use the computer at work, but my off hour hobbies can be very expensive sometimes. I love going to Antique Shows and shops, I don't usually buy because that is the expensive stuff, I also like to collect football & baseball cards and other unique sports memorbilia, the expense depends on my will power and my wallet working hand in hand

Nope. Not at all. My hobbies include "Wicca" (good magic) "Drawing" and "Astrology"
Magic is probably the most expensive though. But all I do is go to a book store, buy a spell book for like 8 dollars, go home, and there are SOME that need ingredients, but most of them, i can just find around my house.
Drawing isn't at all expensive. I don't do anything fancy. I just get some printing paper (5 dollars for like a billion pieces) some pencils.. (2 dollars for about 10..) and then i draw.
Astrology? Not hard. I just use the computer to research! I have two books, but i didn't really "NEED" them. But I got them anyways.

It is and it isn't.

I am an avid video gamer.

it IS expensive when you buy a new console. it IS also expensive to keep up with new games.

it IS NOT expensive in the fact that once you pay the 249.99 for the Wii and the 49.99 per game, you don't have to keep buying it.

buying a Wii X360 PS3 ect. is a ONE TIME FEE. after you pay it, you only have to shell out about 30-50 bucks for a console game, 15-25 bucks for a handheld game.

that is why my hobby IS EXPENSIVE and at the same time IS NOT EXPENSIVE.

hope this helped!

My hobby is rather on the $$$ side! The Babe spinning wheel may be only $150 but it is slightly ugly being built of PVC pipe and bicycle wheel. The turned wooden wheels start at $350 and go up.

Wool to spin on the wheels is around $10 per ounce! An ounce of wool lasts me about 30 minutes then I need some more!

Yes, it is rather expensive!

All hobbies seem to be expensive.
There are some that are not.
Reading isnt expensive unless you buy only expensive books.
Drawing and painting isnt once you have the supplies.
Writing isnt.
Swimming isnt.
Doing good deeds isnt.
Being kind isnt.
Being ready to help someone isnt.
There are lots of hobby things that dont cost anything.
Have fun!!!

it depends. I collect genealogy info and historic documents. Once I picked up a 1897 first edition of a book that cost me $5, and another for over $100. depends on what I'm looking for and where I find it

I'm a rabid model railroader, and YES it's expensive... though I do as much as possible to mitigate the costs: buying from estate-sales, using recycled materials, and buying bit by bit.
