I got a chain letter stating that for every person that I forwarded the email to, AOL would pay $1 towards the hospital bill of a little girl who had her face burned off in a horrible bathroom fire at Walmart.

Anyway, my Question is:
If i send this to 250 people, can I claim a $250 charitable contribution on my 2007 income taxes? Hurry..I gotta know before midnight on Monday.

ROTFLMAO! It's a scam, she's actually a 52 year old Yahoo employee using the money for a boob job. Seems the twins headed south and she wants them up and off her knees before Groundhog's day.

As you probably know, cosmetic surgery (a/k/a plastic surgery) is not a legitimate charitable expense although strippers CAN tax deduct boob jobs as a business expense.

Save your time, you won't be able to deduct a thing.

Are you SERIOUS .... ??? lol

I got a chain letter that said:

"Dear Miss (former) S. Pants:

Since we have it on good authority that trolls are after your asss, we HIGHLY recommend you 'change your identity' to prevent any further people from hunting you down a second time.

To ensure your safety, please forward this letter to 178 of your closest friends."

No you cannot claim $250 charitable contribution because you are not contributing $250, Yahoo is.
I'd give my buck and be done with it.

First, go to snopes.com, check to see if it a hoax email. The IRS won't let you claim a charitable donation unless you have a receipt to prove it. And they would really frown on a claim like the one you mention! Want to get audited?? Try it, let us know how it works out!!!
