Purely a biological reaction. If sex wasn't pleasurable then no animal would do it and their species would die out.
Look at it honestly: it's a complicated and messy procedure that carries with it huge risks of contracting nasty diseases. Consider the act of copulation (hardly 1 in 1,000,000 sperm ever get to fertilise an egg) along with the painful and drawn out period of pregnancy and childbirth and it's a wonder that any of us are here at all.
There has to be an easier and safer way for mammals to breed that still allows the sheer pleasure of a good copulate.
As we're mammals and where we are, we're stuck with it. Still, it's bloody good fun so let us enjoy it.

Programmed into our DNA so that the human race is continued. This is assured due to the immense pleasure that it gives before during and after. It is a need that cannot be ignored. If a baby boy and a baby girl were able to be brought up on a desert island with no other humans around, they would eventually find out how to have sex.
Happy New Year.

Sex helps in losing weight. Well, at least a little. One burns approximately four to five calories per minute or perhaps 300 calories per hour during sex (depending upon how, shall we say, "vigorous" the sex is). About 7,000 to 8,000 excess calories must be burned to lose one kilogram of fat (3,500 to lose one pound). You do the calculations
