Let me answer your question with another question.

How can a man possibly give you something that he does not have and may never have?

I agree with the suggestion of the John Gray book btw --" Men are from Mars....."

One that helped me tremendously also is from a Christian author named Gary Smalley -- "Love is a Decision"

Don't depend on your husband for all of your emotional support. As women, we need other women around us that understand the complex emotions of women. Men can be understanding but few can grasp the depth of how we feel. There are some things that only another woman understands. I have a female best friend that is my emotional soul mate. We understand each other completely. I can tell her about any situation and she understands my reactions and feelings and helps to validate me. Sometimes, when I tell my husband the same situation his response might be "And, so?"...men! My mother understands too. We're very close. Don't expect miracles from your husband. Men are just not wired like we are and while they may not understand us totally, if they love us they will be there as much as they can. Good luck :)

How is he not there emotionally for you..... Men are a little slow when it comes to that issue......They show their love in different ways then women do...Men do not talk they act.....My hubby shows me he loves me by working every day taking care of the bills...some times he cleans my car and he keeps it in running order... He works late sometimes so he can book a trip or buy me something nice...We as women like to cuddle and hug and kiss... And talk about our feelings....This is not a man thing..... So when he is not doing this you say,... Oh hes not there for me emotionally..... Well you need to observe him and ask your self....
1. Dose he work every day
2.dose he pay the bills on time...
3.Dose he show love through action instead of words...I think your man loves you I just think you don't know how to recognize it

I would explain to him how it makes you feel when he acts that way. If he loves you, he'll try to be there emotionally for you. Everyone needs someone to be there for them emotionally. I don't think you should just learn to live with it because you have the right to be happy in your marriage.

Sounds like he was raised different from you, if he wasn't raised that way then I say it will be very hard to get him that way. Well at least he is not verbally abusive, like my sisters had. You could try talking to your pastor or the pastor's wife about things, if you can't get hubby too. Good luck.

Read "Men are from mars, Women are from Venus"

we are like hot and cold. But, when we understand one another, then we can figure out how to live together.

Well most men are like that... and if he is not there for you emotionally then why do you even want him there at all?

I CAN RELATE TO YOU ON THIS ISSUE. WHAT I DO IS GO ON ABOUT MY BUSINESS AND I DO NOT EXPECT FOR HIM TO "BE THERE FOR ME" SO, INSTEAD, I HAVE FRIENDS AND A TWIN SISTER WHO I RELY ON AND THEY RELY ON ME AND THAT IS MY COMFORT. I AM SORRY THAT YOUR SPOUSE IS LIKE THAT. IT DOES HURT REALLY BAD TO NOT FEEL EMOTIONALLY SECURE. IT IS AN AWEFUL FEELING...EVENTUALLY YOUR HUBBY IS GOING TO WONDER WHY YOU DO NOT COME TO HIM FOR YOUR PROBLEMS AND THEN MIGHT COME AROUND ....THEN AGAIN HE MIGHT NOT...BUT JUST KEEP CLOSE FRIENDS FOR YOUR EMOTIONAL UPSETS THAT YOU CAN RELY ON...AND IF HE EVER ASKS YOU WHY YOU DON'T COME TO HIM...BE HONEST AND TELL HIM WHY...BECAUSE HE IS NOT THERE FOR YOU.
