I dunno, an eastern nation full of religious zealots ready to kill someone for being gay is a bit under-rated these days...
...Give me a prozac anyday.

Most people do not pursue contentment via materialistic gain. The USA is the most productive country in the world because we have the most productive people. People want to work in the USA because that's what life is about. Life is about what you do, not what you do not do. I would not be suprised if Bill Gate's is happier to give $600million of his own money to fight HIV/AIDS than he is to live on a $175million property. Only a handful of human beings have given more to the human race than Bill Gates. I do not understand how people give up decency via materialistic gain.

I dont like how you lump in drug, alcohol and weight problems in with mental health issues. There is a correlation but they are not mental health issues per se.Plus I dont think you necessarily lose your common decency just because you want material things.
I just think that a dam good beating as a child does the trick. I know its not politically correct these days, but I dont steal, lie, cheat, drink, do drugs (anymore!). i believe I am a decent human being 99% of the time (I have my foibles) and I put it down to very strict discipline as a child. Although discipline does not necessarily need to involve beating. Im just so sick of the namny pamby mothers in Tesco saying 'Tarquin sweetie, please dont kick the nice lady, it isnt nice' tarquin would learn a lot quicker if the nice lady kicked him back.

I agree 100 present! We as a people are evolving rapidly in spite of this plague of drugs and alcohol, but we are losing a lot of good minds. We must bring the Golden rule into our lives. You might like my web site "TheAsender"

Not really it's just years ago these folk were locked up out of public sight so nobody noticed them. Now it's care in the community and the X factor so we just see them more than we used to.

well, we live in an unnatural society that is too high-stress. However, I also think people are diagnosed too loosely with mental disorders that are actually just eccentric personality traits.
