Cherry, Environmental Determinism is opposite this. Environmental Determinism states humans are bound by their environment, the one I am referring to states the earth is manipulated/regulated by living organisms

This sounds awful similar to the Gaia Hypothesis which states:

"That the very makeup of the atmosphere, seas, and terrestrial crust is the result of radical interventions carried out by Gaia through the evolving diversity of living creatures.``

That is a direct quote from James Lovelock and says precisely the exact same thing that you posted..
