This question comes up frequently. Here is how you work it. Assume it is raining at the rate of x inches per minute. This immediately tells you that the longer you are in the rain the wetter you become. If you walk in this rain and it takes you 10 minutes to get where you are going you receive 10x inches of rain on you, but if you run and it takes 3 minutes you only get 3x inches on you. Get it now? Don't bother with any other kind of logic or mythbusters simply try to put the problem into a mathematical expression.

Logically just being exposed to the rain walking or running for 100 meters will make you 100% wet and maybe sick as well .

I assume that walking for example for 5 minutes in the rain looks more sogging than 5 minutes of running .

All answers ignore the wind. If the wind is behind you you may run at the same speed and have rain falling only on your head and shoulders. If you run in still air you gain more unwanted rain on your front.
Most people are taller than rounder, so this means more water over all. Walkers should lean forward to make their shoulders an umbrella for their bodies.
The meteorologist, knows weather, but it does not mean he grasps issues like this. He missed increased rain on your front !!!!

If you walk, you become wetter, because the time you take to cover the distance is more. So,if duration is more, more raindrops fall on you.
