Cheated Yes !
I unfortunately parted with hard earned cash, for which turned out to be a wholly inadequate system called Vista.

Only to find a far superior free option.

Vista boasted aero, the so called 'wow' factor, grossly inferior to Compiz Fusion.

Vista boasted if your PC can run XP it can run Vista, also a cynical lie. In many cases at the very least you need to upgrade your RAM,and in many cases your graphics card as well, more unnecessary expense.

Vista is heavy on resources, even when running the most basic of functions.

Linux is not, even with all the singing all dancing Compiz Fusion.

Vista boasted added security with Windows Defender, another lie.

Linux doesn't need all that garbage clogging up the system, however if you are concerned about security, then a simple firewall will do.

Microsoft I'm not sure will ever learn as they've paid scant regard to Vista, and are concentrating there efforts on bringing out another load of old tosh in 2010.

So yes I feel cheated.

The future is Linux, so lets spread the word on what the masses are missing out on.

MS did not cheat you. You made your choice, all systems (even Linux) have bugs and vulnerabilities (it is impossible for it to be any other way). High use Operating Systems have a greater number of people and organisations trying to hack into or exploit the vulnerabilities. If Linux was the main OS of choice then the vulnerabilities would be known and therefore there would be more hackers.

MS never guaranteed that their OS could never be hacked or that there would not be any vulnerabilities. You have choices, turn your back on MS and try one of the other OS' or continue with MS; but protect yourself as best you can, install a good AVS, Firewall, anti-spyware, anti-rootkit AND keep your OS and protection software up to date.

Good luck, whatever you decide.

Well, if you changed to safer choices after being cheated fro the first time, Microsoft would have taken that seriously. My guess is, you stuck on and gave them a second chance. They cheated you again. That'd be your mistake.

I did mind viruses some six yers back. I changed to Linux from then. Never looked back at Microsoft. Even if they have put their act togehter, I am not interested in parting with my hard earned cash.

it was your choice to use MS windoz. you never took the time to find out if there where other operating systems out there that could do the job better,,, well there is.... that operating system is called Linux,,, there are many versions of Linux operating systems... all put MS windoz to shame... including Vista but you being brain washed with MS would not know,,,
so if you think you're being cheated by MS then move over to Linux... it is free,,, all the software you will ever need is also free.. check it out for yourself click on the links below
did you know that you can run Linux from a cd and do everything without installing it on a computer,,, include getting on the internet... can't do that with windoz Vista can you....

Cheated? no
Viruses are usually on computers because the user allows it there because of lack of knowledge. Want a firewall that stops everything? Unplug your computer from any outside access and I can guarantee that you will never get a virus. No disks, no internet access, no CD's, ect.
