hi, i was just wondering how you calculate the increase / decrease of cash & its equivalents from the current year and the previous year.

do you use percentages to measure the increase or can you just use numbers (ie, subtract current cash amounts to the year before?) .. or do i need to do it against something? like calculate the percent of current assets comprised of cash .. and compare those against each other?

thanks!

Use numbers and %.
Subtract the difference and then divide that by the previous year for % of increase or decrease.

You can use the percent change formula:

Percent change = (new_value - old_value) * 100/(old_value)
