Go to the local search engines and get your business listed. Join the Yahoo Cafe in your area and advertise on there. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/ to find out if there is a yahoocafe in your city. We have one here that you can advertise businesses or anything for sale. Free.

Go to craigslist.com and advertise in your local area. Free.

Try www.myworkman.co.uk if you are based in the UK. It allows you to post up your services you have to offer and contact details for future customers. They also have a jobs section, where people require certain work doing where the people willing to do the work "bid" it out for teh contract (on price and timescale etc).
