Beatnik is a media stereotype that borrowed the most superficial aspects of the Beat Generation literary movement of the 1950s to present a distorted (and sometimes violent), cartoon-like misrepresentation of the real-life people and the spirituality found in Jack Kerouac's autobiographical fiction.
“Beat Generation” sold books, sold black turtleneck sweaters and bongos, berets and dark glasses, sold a way of life that seemed like dangerous fun – thus to be either condemned or imitated. Suburban couples could have beatnik parties on Saturday nights and drink too much and fondle each other’s wives.

BeatNicks were the original hippies.
They were around from the mid fifties to early sixties.
They were mainly anti-establishment with some pot smoking and heroin but not necessarily. Some liked motorcycles.

A long, long time ago, when I was a tiny little tot, my cousin who was a teenager then, had a boyfriend who was a "beatnick" He always said "cool man" and he wore unconventional clothing like a beret, a small scarf around his neck, his shirts were unbuttoned and he wore sandals and he was always tapping out a beat on something or another.`smile~
ps, he always wore "shades" and he had a goatee.
I hope that's what you're looking for. ~smile~

I have never known what a BeatNick was. I am guessing it is a rock concert, or something like that.

I don't know what a BeatNick is, but I do remember beatniks, who were most definitely human (even if my father often wondered). :) Cool, man.
