wild life lives there
people live there too
when wind/storms etc. you do not want to be stuck out in the open

for homework...and i cant figure it out...i want to have a backup guess...I already put somali...i doubt its sahara (she told us it wasn't)

It really could be any arid/semi-arid, desert place....from the Sahara and Kalahari to the Gobi, Australian deserts, Arabian peninsula deserts (did you see the Viggo Mortensen movie, Hidalgo?--set in US and Arabia), American Southwest....etc etc.....

That only narrowed it down to about half of the world's locations. Maybe your teacher should join your class as a student too.
