Because they are in a comparatively weak conference, are in Hawaii and therefore have some difficulty scheduling 'top' opponents, and play the Run 'n' Shoot offense that fell out of favor several years ago as a 'gimmick' offense unable to match up against 'quality teams' according to some analysts.

Are people seriously still asking this? Hawaii isn't going to last against Georgia so what makes you think they would last against LSU or OSU? It doesn't matter if they are undefeated - if they would have played LSUs schedule, I guarantee they wouldn't even be in the Sugar Bowl. They got lucky with their rediculously easy schedule and I suggest that everyone stop complaining and be grateful that they are even where they are right now. Hawaii didn't seem too upset that they had to settle for the Sugar Bowl, it's just the dumbass fans.

Sorry Mikey, but if they are out in the playoffs it's because it is a PLAY OFF. Idiot. And Hawaii is undefeated because they played Pop Warner teams all year instead of real challenge. The best teams play in the National Championship, not the undefeated ones.
While we are at it, I was undefeated in Div 1A as well. Should I be in the National Championship game?

Because the BCS is a ridiculous, incompetent system. They should be in, LSU out.
Edit: It doesn't matter what people think would happen, they're still undefeated. Just like if the Patriots lose in the first round of the playoffs, they shouldn't make it to the Super Bowl just because they're the best team.
Double Edit: Alright, fine. It's like the Pats losing enough games to keep them out of the playoffs and then not being allowed in despite having the "best team".
No Top-25 team in the country would schedule Hawaii non-conference. Why punish them for it?

Because Hehateme.
That and everyone is afraid to play the power schools in the WAC because its a lose-lose proposition. If they win, people say it was against a weak conference school. If they lose, well...they are losers.

The Rainbows have a lousy team and don't deserve to be in any BCS game, much less the Title game.

Their strength of schedule ranking affected this. Their schedule was not as difficult as other high ranked teams with losses. Still an amazing achievement though!

Because they haven't played anyone. That's what you get playing in the WAC (wack) conference.
