And why does everyone forget Reagan's 1986 amnesty bill ended up granting more than 2.5 million illegal immigrants amnesty? "Ultimately, some 2.7 million people were granted amnesty, and many who were not stayed anyway, forming the nucleus of today's unauthorized population" (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/24/opinion/24meese.html ).

i think the only cons is give it to people that have commit a crime that end up hurting somebody. i don't see why congress and people that againts immigrants is comparing them to terrorist when most of those undocumented people are model citizen that trying hard to get something they wouldn't get in they homeland. if a crime is commited a undocumented person was around they most likely won't report it so i think it would be a great benefit for this country and the world in general to at least give them a path to legalization.

I think you can look up the pro's and con's to make your own decision. That 1986 amnesty bill also was to put a stop to the insane illegal immigration, though the laws were rarely if ever enforced!!!!!! I strongly oppose giving amnesty to those who came to our country illegally........that would put those illegals way ahead of those immigrants who have been trying to come to our country for years at a severe disadvantage, besides not being fair. Doesn't send out the right message. We are a country of laws, which a majority seems to forget.

well, the only pros i see are for the American businesses that want the cheap labor with no benefits!!!

these are usually businesses that are not up to code on safety issues, no form of employee rights, with outdated machinery and equipment, no health benefits or pensions or unemployment, or workmans comp!!!

its a republican businessmans paradise!!

basicly all the rights that we have fought for in our country ever since we first set foot here and opened a business has been thrown out the door!!!

and this is all accepted by our government, which recieves huge amounts of campaign funds and other perks from the companys!!!

then its the middle and lower class citizens that have to step up to the plate and make sure these illegals are treated like human being and have some sort of help while they are here!!!

so the businesses win either way, cheap labor , no benefits or responsibility for them, cause technicly like area 51, they dont exist legaly on paper!!!

and amnesty would not be fair to all us hard working Americans that have struggled to make it here in America, and have had to pay for our crimes and mistakes, and insurance and drivers license the hard way!!!

and the way it is set up now, by them not having to pay into the system like we do, they send their extra money back to mexico so the other family members can come here also!!!

the camels back is gonna break sooner or later!!!
