Is there anyway at all I can get some help in getting over this model railroading hang-up I have? Thanks in advance.

Good, but expensive, hobby to enjoy and pass on to your children so why feel hung-up. If you're not spending money on cigarettes, bar drinks and other excesses, just consider letting this be your reward!

Change your Train of thought. Once model trains enter your mind, you need to Rail that idea immediately. It's a pain in the Caboose, but it works.
