We are living in an apartment. When we cook specially the Asian/Indian meals, the coocking smell/odour spread to all rooms and sometimes absorbed to the cloths. Any device/method of avoiding this?
(stop cokking will not be accpeting as an answer...):)

Besides using an exhaust fan in the stove hood, try lighting a few scented candles (all the same scent) in the kitchen and other rooms in the house. If not, then get those Scented Glad Plug-ins (again all the same scent) and use them throughout the house. As for your clothes, add a teaspoon of vanilla to your wash and it will remove the smell.

If you have an exhaust fan over your stove, run that continuosly while you're cooking.
Open the window a bit will help also, even if it's cold outside.
A good room deoderizer such as Febreeze will get rid of odours.

I agree with running the fan and maybe keeping the window open -also try boinling a big pot of water before you start cooking, and keep it boiling while you cook - that seems to help in my kitchen.
