It's not real.

No law enforcement dept. would release tapes of crimes committed for commercial use. Ever.

There may be snippets of recreated or actual film, but not the gorier stuff.

A tip off is that it's a film released by a major film studio.

I don't go to these types of movies. I think we are becoming desensitized by all of the graphic images we see on a regular basis.

It is disturbing, and in my opinion crosses the line from scary and entertaining to mentally disturbed.

I highly doubt that would be real footage.. as any videos that were collected would be police property.. anyone can fake it.

As for how disturbing.. I don't know.. watch Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door.. which is not gorey in any way.. but is EASILY the most disturbing movie I've ever watched.. (The movie is based on a best selling book, which was inspired by the case of Sylvia Likens.. ) Most of the brutality was not in front of the camera.. but it was so... painful to watch.. I made someone who is a hard core horror fan watch it.. and he was absolutely horrified by it..

Well it started a few years ago with people having to SAW their own leg off to survive. Then a HOSTILE movie came out of torturing people which pushed the threshold. Now this is just another advancement. It will be sold to the public as being real or whatever it isn't. They will say it is based on facts, but the truth will say it is far from the truth. I'm interested to see it though I wouldn't pay to see it in the theater.

Is this like the Blair Witch project and we'll soon find out it's completely not real?

I saw the preview while at the movies too. Hated it. Everyone in the theatre was dead silent after it ended, very awkward.

I think in any facet of life, they'll be someone trying to push people's buttons and go over the limit, especially when it comes to horror movies. I prefer horror movies with great content and characters, not gore.

Sometimes a major studio will buy a film in order that it NEVER be released. This movie could easily be placed in the dangerous category.

I didn't bother clicking on your link, and I never (never never never) click links in these questions, but I wanted you to know how funny I thought it was that a preview was so disturbing to you that you posted a question about it; apparently, not so disturbing that you have any problem with showing it to others.
