there is not just one that i remember because there was alot of events that happens, to many bad things for one things all the floods, shotings in schools and mals and i could go on but we wont forget all the soldiers of ours that was killed in a senseles war, i cry when i think about it for all that where killed this year and the year before, also the last one was benazidirs killing, wonder what is wrong with this world, sad sad sad

I was watching a re-cap of 2007 and was shocked at all the top news stories this year. I really cannot say which one will stand out in my mind because there were so many.
One thing FOR SURE, I am sick of hearing all the "vote for me" political news! I'll be so glad when the presidential race is over.

1)Virginia Tech shooting
2)Oil prices spiked, housing slump
3) Minneapolis Bridge collapses
4)Iraq Surge
VA tech is #1 because I'm a student (a senior in HS when it happened- we had a bomb threat a couple of days later) and it hit close to home.
The economy is always important, and it seems like this may be the beginning of a recession.
The Minn. bridge was a terrible tragedy.
The Iraq surge was highly contested, since it went against the growing sentiment that we should be pulling out.

The Event: My grandson a preemie being born in 2007 too early weighing in at 1 pound and he is screaming his lungs out and healthy this year. He is our miracle baby.

The day when the college student interrupted Mister Potato Head's speech. He was surrounded by cops who tazed him into submission, all the while he exclaimed"don't taze me bro!!!". All of this happened in front of the so-called most Liberal Richman who wanted to be president. I figure he rates right up there with G.W. Bushwacker.

the queen Christmas speech (although i missed it again) or my misses telling me she was pregnant with our first, i know it ent major news but it is the news that's matter to me, i don't care if war is happening in some country or our politions are @ssholes or some person has won the lottery. the only news story i remember are the ones that effects my life.
