RE:
Looking for Black Lava Rock to finish a landscaping project. Can't find it at any of the local retailers?
I've been told by Home Depot and Lowes that this problem is a supplier issue (Nashville area).

Black Lava Rock will make your yard hotter in the summer, it's difficult to work with and really doesn't look that great. It's hard to keep clean, leaves, weeds and such.
You may want to find a local source of wood chips (not bark in a bag). Some tree trimming companies ever offer it for free.

You might want to check with a professional landscape supplier. They generally have more "Special" sources than Home depot or Lowes. Also some upscale nurseries may be able to find it through one of thier mulch or stone suppliers.
On professional source is your local John Deere Landscapes.

Unless the product is found locally........you have black lava beds within 100 miles........then the cost to ship in will be a killer. Rethink..........maybe another product will do as well.
What you want and what you can get or afford are often different.
