its called "Echinacea", that's the right spelling,
its a herb that helps boost your immune system,
it works,
but just use it when your getting symptoms or are sick.
you don't want to develop a tolerance to it

relax, and many fluids. If it lasts greater suitable than 3 days, or in case you have fever, it extremely is no longer a chilly - it extremely is the flu. once you're achy, or have a headache, it extremely is the flu; once you're congested on your sinuses, that's a sinus an infection; once you're congested on your chest, it extremely is in all probability bronchitis. If it extremely is a few thing different than a chilly, pass to the well-being care expert and get taken care of.

sure. here you go. feel better. :)
1 Eat chicken soup. It contains an amino acid called cysteine, which thins mucus and breaks up congestion. Plus, the steam from the soup helpsopen up air passages.
2 Gargle at the first sign of a scratchy throat with either mouthwash or 1/2 tsp. of salt dissolved in 8 oz. warm water.
3 Stay warm. Getting chilled compromises your immune system.
4 Take aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen to reduce fever and inflammation if you are an adult. Give children acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Determine the dose according to the child's age and weight.
5 Drink hot beverages and take hot showers. Steam helps open up nasal passages and reduces congestion.
6 Drink a lot of liquid, enough so that your urine turns clear. Yellow urine means your urine is fairly concentrated. Clear urine means your body is well-hydrated.
7 Use cough syrup sparingly. Coughing is one of the ways the body gets rid of mucus.
8 Suck on a throat lozenge for relief from a sore throat. Choose a menthol-, phenol- or benzocaine-based lozenge; these are the ones that will help to numb the throat. They also help open up nasal passages. Zinc lozenges may also be helpful.
9 Put an extra pillow under your head when you sleep to help your nasal passages drain.
10 Rest. If you have a bad cold, one of the best ways to treat it is to take a few days off and sleep.

It's not a cure, but I always slam down Vitamin C and Zinc. Then I take some Zicam. It really cuts down on the duration and severity of the cold and it works for me.

I was blown away by Fashion's answer. I gave her a Best Answer and if I knew how to give her a star, I'd give her a best answer for the rest of '08. I saved it in my Favorites, placing in in its own folder

Honestly, stop being a wimp and ignore it. Works for me. Well better than laying around thinking about how bad I feel.

Not really, but I tell my girlfriend I do. I tell her the best and fastest way to get over it is to sweat it out by having an all day all night sex marathon.
