By predators, I mean human dirtbags. I'm a guy, and I have the ability to sense when a guy has the right training, attributes, or instinct to be able to defend himself pretty quickly. Examples are Dustin Hoffman, who doesn't often play tuffs, but is tough, and Pirece Brosnan, who is a total wuss (but I still love his shows). Can women tell as well as men when a man can defend himself/others?

I can. Being sharp/analytical, socially aware, having the ability to make decisions with good judgment and watching his surroundings, usually qualify him. I perceive the loud macho type, or the one that screams "I can protect you" with his muscles, as the most unsafe. No physical strength can protect me against a bullet, but someone who is sharp and can sense danger can either avoid the bad situation altogether or much easier get me out of it.

This is actually one of the first things I pay attention to before getting involved with anybody.

Yup. I can. It's a feeling. It's a sense of smell. It's a look. I just know. There are boys and then there are men. I can spot the difference.

I really don't know, but I don't think so. The only reason I say that is because when faced with a dangerous situation, people will very often surprise you. We will very often surprise ourselves.

Yes I can sense that but I generally don't need it. I pretty much protect myself, & being able to "sense" these things basically keeps me from getting into bad situations in the first place. Don't get me wrong if my husband or my son want to step in & protect me, I wouldn't stop them & would appreciate it. But I'm quite confident in myself to keep my own self safely out of harms way.

Given that I'm an adult woman and not a child, I look to MYSELF for protection. We aren't living in the days of the cavemen....either you can handle yourself in society or you can't. Defense comes in many forms, both physical and mental.

Who care about this? Women have no right to ask men to protect them. And men have no dutty of protect women.
