No, same as it didn't in the 30's and 40's I lived on a farm and we always played Cowboys and Indians on horseback. It was a blast. Nobody ever got hurt or violent. We also played Cops and Robbers and lay on the grass and looked at the clouds, trying to find ones that looked like cats dogs, angels, whatever. played hide and go seek, Red light green light. No , the games and movies you mentioned didn't make us bloodthirsty killers.

hell no....i grew up in the 60's and had many a toy gun,knife,sword...all kinds of thing and yes my parents spanked the heck out of us when we were bad,we rode in the back of the pickup truck and thought the best time is when the driver went over a bump and we got air time back there and of course i remember the first time i saw a seat belt in a car ...also remember using a dial telephone and having to get up from the couch to change the t.v. channel...lol also doing my math homework using nothing but my brain..and of course the first time kids in school were caught with a calculator it was taken by the teacher and not giving back until the end of the year when your parents came to get it...lol yes i am a child of the 60's....lol great question a star for you....

I had a bow and arrow set..dont remember having a toy gun. Loved watching cops and robbers and watching cowboy shows... and no they never inspired me to rob and kill ...I had parents that watch em with me. I really loved Tarzan, i'd climb trees , had a rope to swing on and acted the shows outside with a friend. I'd play Tarzan one day and she would play Jane then we'd switch up..That was the good ole days for sure.

owned my first BB gun at age 9. owned my first shotgun at age 12. my father took the time to teach me about firearms, hunting, and responsibility. the problem with the children you hear on the news is a lack of parental guidance. parents have stopped taking an active role in educating their children. We are all to busy now a days trying to put food on the table and pay bills, that we loose sight of what really matters. Children need constant nurturing from both parents for the first 5 years. we pawn our children on others and expect a healthy kid, well that is a warped idea that leads to warped minds.

I had a gun and a plastic sword. I hate violence. Hence I don't go around chasing people with knives now or wanting to kill anyone. Kids have always played with such toys. If you ask me it's too much telly and too much freedom that makes them the way they are now. Bring back the birch.

No it didn't. In fact our parents and other relatives used it to teach us the difference between fantasy and reality. When we finally were old enough to handle a real gun, we already knew that movies were not real life.

why just the 60s? - you could ask this of almost anyone over 20, the falling out of favour of such things has only started very recently.
