For those of you who don't know, royal python is another common name for a ball python (python regius). If it's a baby then you could house it in that temporarily, but step up to something bigger as soon as possible. Ball pythons DO like belly heat but you have to be careful that it's not so hot as to burn it. You might go with a small heat-rock with that small of a container. Royal pythons grow about 8" a year give or take a couple inches.

Royal pythons need little room to thrive. As long as it's short term, the little container should be fine. Try not to feed it until you get a proper viv and heat lamp as royals don't like head mats and, as you probably know, heating is most crucial when digesting. You don't want your snake to go for more than a week and a half so be hasty with getting a proper viv.

That's a bit too small. Plastic containers are cheap...I'd get a bigger one for now. They need a heat mat so make sure you get a thermostat that connects to the UTH so it doesn't get too hot. They also need a bowl big enough to soak their whole bodies in. The other side of the tank needs to be cool. A hiding cave should be placed over the warm and cool ends. This is going to be hard to do in such a little container.

Here's a good care sheet:
