Unfortunately, it is a certainty to happen some time, but possibly not in the next few hundred years. If such an eruption were to happen, it would affect not only North America. The whole planet would be thrown into crisis, as it has not been since the last Ice Age twelve thousand years ago.
What you may not realise is that such an eruption could very easily become a Mass Extinction Event, which is when a significantly high proportion of all life on the planet becomes extinct.
Unfortunately, very few people, and certainly no politician will ever understand this, so no precautionary measures will ever be taken. As with most potential natural disasters, (like Climate Change) the United States public is either ignorant or in complete denial, so nothing ever gets done.

Oh, i like summer season Heights intense. all and sundry went loopy for it right here in Australia! Chris Lilley is a genius. He additionally made yet another sequence referred to as 'we are in a position to be Heroes' which starred Ja'mie, yet i do no longer think of it exchange into as stable as SHH.

The chances are nearly 100%. The caldera will blow again someday.
The chance it will happen in our lifetimes or our children's lifetimes or our grandchildren's lifetimes or even our great grandchildren's lifetimes is next to nothing.

100%, but probably not in our lifetimes...even if it did there would be months if not years of increasing activity and warning. Don't lose any sleep over it.
