Well, one answer would/could be the empire is reclaiming Great Britain.
I don't think the common man got anything out of The Empire.

erm i think britannia rules the graves (not the waves). empires and nationalism causes democracy. people die for wars and empires why not live in peace!!

First the British need to strengthen their armed forces if they are to spread themselves all over the globe like that again. They are simply not up to a task of that magnitude right now.
