I just love him and yes, he's good friends with Burton.

He's done the music for most movies made by Burton, like "Nightmare Before Christmas", "Batman", "Big Fish", "Corpse Bride" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (amongst others).

He's also done "Ghostbusters II", "Spider-Man 2", "The Simpsons Movie", "Hulk", "Donnie Darko".

The thing is he's responsable for so many famous soundtracks that it seems he does everything.

An interesting fact is that he formed the group Oingo Boingo with the purpose of making soundtracks (like in "Weird Science").

...give one a pretty good idea of how talented and prolific a music composer he is, considering they type of music he writes, coupled with his history with the quite successful rock band, Oingo Boingo. Ironically, in his humble beginnings associated with writing movie music, he pretty much wrote the music by ear, having very little literary music background, outside of his work with 'Biongo...

...I say, all power to him; he definitely has an ear for matching his specific music composition prowess, with the specific movies he writes for. Having an incomperable and intimate rapport with director Tim Burton, his eclectical music prowess absolutely completes Burton's macabre filmmaking style...

...of course, once upon a time, one could say they same thing about veteran composer John Williams, as it seemed that he was writing music for just about every movie out there...

Every movie with super amazing music! And yup he's friends with him, which is good because they work really well togeather.
